President’s Letter

Welcome to the Community Foundation of the Virginias, an organization devoted to fostering philanthropy by fostering charitable giving, serving our donors’ interests and effectively responding to the needs and opportunities in our communities. Our service area is Mercer County, West Virginia and Tazewell County, Virginia. As President, I invite you to view our website and see how we can help meet your needs and our mission.
I speak for our entire Board of Directors when I say we welcome you. Our Board is made up of all volunteers that are dedicated to serving our community through long-term giving programs and opportunities. We come from diverse background in all walks of life and experiences and can provide unique insight, both as donors and as people responsible for meeting your charitable giving goals. Our website will give you a brief introduction to the donor opportunities that are available. Please take a few minutes to see how we may be of service to you.
More importantly we welcome the opportunity to talk or meet with you to discuss how best our programs can meet your personal of giving.
Winston Churchill once said “We make a living by what we get; we make a life by what we give.” The foundation can establish a framework for long term giving that will influence the life of the giver and the life of the receiver.
