THE AMERICAN ELECTRIC POWER COMMUNITY SERVICES FUND

This Donor Advised Fund was established in 2002 as a “Build a Fund” to fund grants to non-profit organizations for the purpose of health, hunger and housing.

 

THE AMMAR FAMILY MEMORIAL FUND

For the purpose of beatification in the Bluefield area, including Mercer and Tazewell Counties.

 

 

THE ANONYMOUS FUND

To support changing community needs.

 

 

THE ROBERT AUSTIN FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The fund will provide scholarship assistance to one or more graduates of Bluefield High School and/or Graham High School who will attend Bluefield College, Bluefield, Virginia, and may be renewed annually.

 

 

THE FANNIE KATE AND BETTY GARDNER BAILEY FUND

Betty Gardner Bailey established this Donor Advised Fund in 1995 in memory of her mother, Fannie Kate Gardner Bailey. This fund seeks to encourage and foster the Arts and Humanities.

 

 

THE B. G. AND RACHEL BLALOCK FUND

This Donor-Designated Fund supports Bible in the Schools.

 

 

THE BLUEFIELD COLLEGE FUND

To provide scholarship assistance to students of Mercer and Tazewell County.

 

 

THE BLUEFIELD DAILY TELEGRAPH LITERACY FUND

To promote literacy initiatives within the Daily Telegraph’s market area.

 

 

THE BLUEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL ENDOWMENT FUND

Supports all facets of the educational and instructional programs and activities.

 

 

THE BLUEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1963 SCHOLARSHIP FUND

This scholarship is restricted to graduating seniors at Bluefield High School, Bluefield, West Virginia who will pursue a Business or Education major.

 

 

BLUEFIELD HIGH SCHOOLS’ ALUMNI FUND

This fund was established in 2006 to support emerging needs at Bluefield High School. Graduates of Park Central and BHS united to build this fund.

 

 

BLUEFIELD HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 1956

This is a build a fund that will provide assistance to the school for emerging needs.

 

 

THE GHIA M. BORG MEMORIAL FUND

To support organizations involved in education, health, human services, community improvement and the arts. 

 

 

THE PAT AND HAROLD BREWSTER MEMORIAL FUND

This fund was established to provide annual support for the Mercer County Humane Society.

 

 

ALFRED AND SHIRLEY WAMPLER CAUDILL FUND

This fund will support educational activities at all levels.

 

 

ALFRED AND SHIRLEY WAMPLER CAUDILL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

This fund provides scholarships for children of Bluefield College employees, or children of other local colleges, who are in the top five of their graduating class.

 

 

THE TOM COLLEY MEMORIAL FUND

A Build-A-Fund established by the Center for International Understanding in memory of Tom Colley, a member of the Center's Board of Directors. This fund is still in the building stage, and contributions are welcomed and invited.

 

 

COMMUNITY ACTION GRANT FUND

This Donor-Designated Fund supports Christian Organizations and programs to benefit the community.

 

 

COMMUNITY FOUNDATION OF THE VIRGINIAS, INC. ADMINISTRATIVE FUND

To defray administrative expenses.

 

 

EAST RIVER MOUNTAIN H.O.G. #5432

Established in September 2005 by the Harley Owners Group for a scholarship to children of emergency service workers who were killed in the line of duty or died as a result of injuries. 

 

 

THE WILLIAM D. EVANS FUND

Established in 2011 for the purpose of supporting community betterment projects in fields of interest.   

 

 

THE RUTH CREASY AND A. ELMO FLESHMAN FUND

To develop the self-worth and character of female youth in the area.

 

 

THE E. R. GILLESPIE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

To provide scholarship assistance to deserving high school graduates. 

 

 

THE GLENWOOD PARK, INC. GOLDEN CROSS RESIDENT ASSISTANCE FUND

To provide financial assistance to residents when it is evident they can no longer remain in Assisted Living, based on income. 

 

 

THE GLENWOOD PARK FOUNDATION, INC. FUND

This fund supports organizations that assist low-income elderly residents of Mercer County.

 

 

THE GRAHAM HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Provides scholarship assistance to seniors from Graham High School.

 

 

THE GRANTS SUPERMARKET SCHOLARSHIP FUND

To provide scholarship assistance for graduating seniors of high schools in Mercer County and McDowell County in West Virginia, and Tazewell County, Giles County in Virginia who are employees of Grants Supermarkets, or are the children of Grants employees.

 

 

THE HANCOCK FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FUND

This new fund is to provide scholarships to seniors at Bluefield High School.

 

 

THE HARMAN LODGE #222 A.F. & A.M SCHOLARSHIP FUND

To provide scholarship assistance to seniors from Graham High School or a high school in Masonic District 45 of Tazewell County.

 

 

THE HARVEST BLESSINGS FUND

This fund was established to support and benefit Christian organizations and activities.

 

 

THE LINDSAY REBEKAH HAUN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

To provide scholarship assistance to graduating seniors of Princeton Senior High School who plan to major in Education and were actively involved in performing arts organizations while in high school.

 

 

THE JOETTA COLLINS HOOKER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The purpose of the Fund is to establish a perpetual memorial scholarship fund to honor Joetta Collins Hooker to assist graduating seniors of River View High School, McDowell County, West Virginia, in furthering their education.

 

 

THE HEBREW CEMETERY MAINTENANCE FUND

To provide maintenance for the Hebrew Cemetery in Pocahontas.

 

 

THE MAX L. AND VIRGINIA S. KAMMER FAMILY SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Seniors who plan to major in one of the seventeen curricula at WVU’s College of Agriculture and Forestry are eligible.

 

 

THE JUDGE JEROME AND HILDA R. KATZ MEMORIAL FUND

Income from this Fund will be used to benefit the youth of our area.

 

 

THE KENDRICK SCHOLARSHIP FUND

To provide scholarship assistance to worthy students who will attend Concord University.

 

 

THE OTIS "SLIM" KIDD SCHOLARSHIP FUND

To provide scholarships to graduating seniors in high schools in Mercer and McDowell counties in West Virginia, and Tazewell and Bland counties in Virginia who will study welding.

 

 

THE RALPH H. AND SHIRLEY D. KISER FAMILY FUND

This fund was established in 2005 in memory of Steve Kiser and in honor of Scott and Angela Kiser and Kim Kiser Gallins.  This is a scholarship for low-income, Mercer County students planning to attend Bluefield College.

 

 

THE JANIE POTEET LIGHT FUND FOR ART STUDIES

This Fund seeks to support programs and projects that encourage artistic ambitions.

 

 

THE WILLIAM "BILL" LINEBERRY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This fund provides scholarship assistance for graduation seniors of high schools in Mercer County, West Virginia, and Tazewell County, Virginia who will study Electric Distribution Engineering Technology (CAS).

 

 

THE ALEX B. MAHOOD, JR. SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Grants from this fund will provide assistance to seniors from Bluefield High School and Graham High School.

 

 

THE MARSHA A. MEAD, PHD. SCHOLARSHIP ENDOWMENT

To provide support for junior and/or senior psychology majors attending the Bluefield, Virginia campus of Bluefield College. 

 

 

THE FUND FOR MERCER COUNTY

Grants from this Fund support non-profit agencies and organizations that serve low-income Mercer County residents.

 

 

THE A. A. MODENA FAMILY FUND

To provide grants and/or loans to or for the benefit of churches, religions groups, civic and governmental entities and programs, educational institutions and students, social services, health and human services, and arts and the humanities.

 

 

THE SANDRA GAYLE MONK MEMORIAL FUND

This fund was established for the benefit and care of the mentally impaired and physically handicapped citizens of Mercer County, West Virginia.

 

 

MOUNTAIN HEART FOUNDATION

Provides financial assistance to local children who suffer heart disease or have undergone heart surgery to attend Camp Mountain Heart, a summer camp.

 

 

THE SYLVESTER C. AND JANICE M. MYERS FUND

This fund supports the Wade Center.

 

 

THE CHARLES E. AND JERRY ANN MYLES FUND

This fund supports the Mercer Charitable Clinic.

 

 

THE CYRUS LEROY AND BLANCHE MAE NICHOLSON SCHOLARSHIP FUND

To provide scholarships to graduating seniors in high schools in Mercer and McDowell counties in West Virginia, and Tazewell and Bland counties in Virginia who will study Agriculture or Art.

 

 

THE HELEN LOUSIE PAYNE AND HENRY PLEASANT COFER FUND FOR BLUEFIELD, WEST VIRGINIA

This fund supports the current and future community needs in Bluefield, West Virginia, to improve the quality of life through education, health and human services, support for projects and organizations benefitting youth and the elderly, recreation, religion, beautification and the arts, culture, and humanities.

 

 

THE LAUREN ALEXIS PERDUE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

This fund provides scholarship assistance for the freshman year of graduating seniors of Bluefield High School who will attend an accredited 2-year or 4-year college/university on a full-time basis.

 

 

THE PERKINSON FAMILY FUND

To provide support to non-profit, 501(c)(3) organizations that offer any type of support to the youth in the Foundation's service area with preference given to Girl and Boy Scout groups.

 

 

THE CHARLES A. AND MARJORIE M. PETERS FUND

This is an Unrestricted Fund that benefits worthy causes in all fields of interest.

 

 

THE ANNE AND GENO PRESERVATI SCHOLARSHIP FUND

To provide scholarships to graduating seniors in high schools in Mercer and McDowell counties in West Virginia, and Tazewell and Bland counties in Virginia who will study Auto or Diesel Mechanics or Accounting.

 

 

THE JAMES C. RAMEY, SR. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

This fund, in memory of James C. Ramey, Sr., provides scholarships to graduating seniors at six high schools in the service area of Ramey Toyota.

 

 

ROY R. RAUB, M.D. MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This fund was established to provide scholarship assistance to seniors from Mercer, Tazewell, Buchanan and McDowell Counties. 

 

 

THE RIDGE RUNNER FUND

Converted from a Pass-through Fund to provide for the beautification and capital improvements needed to maintain and renovate the Ridge Runner and all associated parts, equipment, tracks, rail tires and otherwise in the City of Bluefield’s Tony Lotito Park.

 

 

THE ROTARY CLUB OF BLUEFIELD, WEST VIRGINIA

This is a donor-designated fund established in 2007 to support all fields of interest in grantmaking.

 

 

JEFFREY EDWARD SHOTT MEMORIAL FUND

This fund was established in 2005 in memory of Jeffrey Edward Shott to assist in programs that benefit the youth of the area.

 

 

THE JOSHUA LEE SHUTT MEMORIAL FUND

Established in 2008, this fund focuses on serving the youth in Mercer County.

 

 

ROSE SINICROPE SCHOLARSHIP

To provide scholarship assistance to seniors of Princeton Senior High School, who are members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Princeton.

 

 

THE WILLIAM G. SKEWES MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

A perpetual scholarship fund for educational purposes to provide scholarships to graduating seniors from Mercer, McDowell and Tazewell County schools who plan to attend school or college in those  counties, pursuing an engineering degree.

 

 

THE MARGARET "TRIKA" SMITH-BURKE SCHOLARSHIP FUND

This scholarship is restricted to graduating seniors at Richlands High School, Richlands, Virginia, and to college students who graduated from Richlands High School and have received this award in one or more previous years.

 

 

THE JAMES AND REBECCA STEORTS FUND

Provides scholarship assistance to graduating seniors from Mercer, Wyoming , McDowell, and Tazewell Counties who plan to attend Concord University, and/or provide grants in support of the Food Pantry and Kerosene Program at Christ Episcopal Church. 

 

 

THE WARREN ASHBY AND ELIZABETH FEATHERSTONE THORNHILL MEMORIAL FUND

This fund is able to provide grants for any of the four areas of interest.

 

 

THE TRAILS AT BLUEFIELD CITY PARK FUND

A Pass-through fund to provide for capital improvements and to assist in the maintenance of the City Park bike trails and all associated parts and equipment.

 

 

THE UNRESTRICTED FUND

This Community Fund provides the Grants Committee and Board of Directors with the most latitude and flexibility in responding to changing community needs.

 

 

THE MAURICE AND GRACE HANNA WEINBERG SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Provides scholarship assistance to graduating seniors from Bluefield High School and/or Graham High School.

 

 

THE DOCTOR JACK WALTER WITTEN SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Provides scholarship assistance for those who attend the Tazewell County Career and Technical Center Trade and Industrial Courses.

 

 

THE YAKKITY-YAK PLAYGROUND FUND

To preserve, beautify and maintain the state-of-the-art playground at Tony Lotito City Park.
